Welcome to the Sovereign Barony of Carville
We are a Visionary Nation
The Sovereign Barony of Carville is an intricate geography of thoughts, writing and actions. - We are a small micronation that has grown into a great love for life. We have struggled to establish and promote our identity in a hostile and confusing world, and we are proud to call ourselves citizens of a great nation.

History of the Sovereign Barony of Carville
We are an eminent and auspicious people with ancient roots, and the territories of our people have been gained, lost and regained throughout our history. We are of noble descent and we work to maintain our traditions and culture. Our lands range from Normandy in France, to Northumberland, England, Scotland and North America. We count amongstour familial inheritance; Drew, Fletcher, Bilbrough, Millington, Manning, Clutten, Aldous, Baker, Bohun, de Boulogne, and Sotheron families. The Manor of Carville started as a small plantation on the banks of the river Tyne in Northumberland, but as time progressed the land was swallowed up by the neighboring town of Wallsend - with Carville only to be remembered in the names of roads and a school. Finally, the Barony of Carville received official recognition when David John Drew was knighted as a Baron of Carville by Sir Richard George William Pitt Booth, Book-King of Hay in 2002.

ABOUT US
The occasion arises in turbulent life of a people when the inclination of the populace and their voice gives expression to a desire to be politically free and independent, the pressing demands for self-determination appear on their political horizon – and such was the case of the people of Carville. We believe that all humans have an innermost desire to call a small space in the world their true homeland, and whether such a land be a physical, territorial space or it be some such concept in the imagination, nevertheless it represents a sovereignty in which a people relish their distinction of being independent, and their freedoms to pursue life as they see fit according to their own peculiar tastes and fashion, in other words, to claim their own sovereignty. Truly, the thirst for self-rule runs in the marrow of human souls. It was under such circumstances that the noble and nomadic Carvilleans sought to settle their lives on their own territory, in accordance with their faith and deepest yearning. They no longer wanted to be slaves in bondage to the governments of the world – but be truly at liberty to command themselves and formulate their own administration according to their needs and wants. Alas, much of this was and remains a dream, but they have managed to settle on their own land and still struggle toward complete independence. They maintain a distinct identity in the form of the Sovereign Barony of the Isles of Carville– a place they may call a ‘homeland.’
This small nation aims for what is most noble in the mind and to practice true justice in the sight of all men. We admonish the dark and evil ways of the world and strive to maintain a portal by which the light of Truth may shine forth into our world to illuminate our path.
